With nods to Outkast and UGK – particularly the 2003 classic Speakerboxx/The Love Below – the vibe of REAL B*TCHES DON’T DIE! and the heart of Kari Faux’s latest effort is authentically Southern, without ever sacrificing the unique flow that she’s become so known for. 

It was important for the album to not only feel authentic in its references, but to *be* genuine in that aspect as well. Across the LP, Kari has enlisted the likes of Big K.R.I.T, Devin The Dude, Jazz Cartier, Gangsta Boo, Phoelix and more to further this Southern psychedelic world that she is excitedly at the helm of. 

Throughout REAL B*TCHES DON’T DIE!, Kari has no hesitation in flossing her raw artistry,  whether she stunts her self-worth (“Me First”) or gives fellow lovers out there the lowdown on shady men (“Dog”). The gritty influence of Memphis emerges on “White Caprice,” which features a powerful appearance from former Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo. 

Despite Kari’s superstardom, she gets deeper than rap on the testimonial song “DRUNK WORDS, SOBER THOUGHTS.” The production is warped while Kari breathily reaches for grace and divulges about having “PTSD from a past life.” 

REAL B*TCHES DON’T DIE! follows a period of loss and growth for the artist, it’s a celebration of life and her declaration of independence. It’s about The Artist Kari Faux and everything that has influenced her transcendent rise through her Southern roots .
